Your Role...

The primary responsibility is service to customers.  The secondary responsibility of is to execute the directives, policies, and procedures of the company to ensure customer service, product sales, and profitability.  The position typically supervises 7 District Managers on a direct report basis, in multiple States.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple districts of retail stores and their District Managers, providing focus and direction to ensure the overall performance of the stores meets the division's goals in the areas of sales generation, expense control, profits, human resource management, customer service, merchandise management, loss prevention and operational excellence.
  • Works directly with the Vice President of Retail to develop strategies and action plans to ensure business plan objectives are met.
  • Develops a strategic plan to meet human resource needs within the chain and monitors Store Manager's efforts and success in achieving their own plans, and ensure the District’s plan is developed to achieve these goals.
  • Closely monitors progress and direct efforts to solve problem areas and create a comprehensive development plan for all District Managers and other direct reports, in addition to ensuring District Managers have created comprehensive development plans for all store management teams and that Store Managers have a plan for all store employees.
  • Monitors progress of all training initiatives and regularly communicate with HR and senior management on progress and needs of the field team.
  • Develop district targets for sales and profits, direct efforts of District Managers to create budgets that will achieve financial targets, and participate in monthly re-forecasting activities to clarify opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop and monitor comprehensive budget for the chain to maintain the brand image and maximize opportunities to improve sales, profits and employee morale.
  • Ensures that store appearance and service levels are consistently at expected standards, communicate regularly with the Vice President and Retail Support staff regarding any issues that can affect the brand, and direct efforts of advertising and events within the region. Ensures field feedback; ideas, recommendations, etc. are communicated to the appropriate retail partners.
  • Ensures that appropriate information is communicated to all field employees in a timely and appropriate manner including; directives initiatives, general information, feedback, etc.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field recommended
  • 10 years' progressively responsive retail management experience
  • 5+ years' experience managing multiple stores
  • Experience managing multiple concepts is preferred
  • Extensive experience and ability to excel in delivering a high level of customer service in a brand image retailer
  • Retail operations, budgeting, planning, customer service, sales and people management experience
  • Ability to travel up to 70-80% of the time
  • Ability to build, lead and manage high performing teams
  • Ability to build and sustain an environment that minimizes high-risk employee relations and legal issues
  • Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, etc.
