Your Role...

Work with Senior Demand Planner. Oversee purchasing functions for a group of vendors stocking the retail stores and distribution centers using the JDA/MMS and AWR/E3/CW system for a select group of Vendors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Senior Inventory Planner and will work to streamline and improve processes within the Inventory Control Dept.
  • Works with Senior Inventory Planner to develop departmental guidelines and metrics for Inventory Planner Assistants to improve performance.
  • Coordinate all functions of JDA/MMS & E3/CW purchasing system for assigned vendors.
  • Timely execution of weekly replenishment, review of Distribution Center orders and timely submission.
  • Create purchase orders as needed.
  • Work with vendors to correct purchase order discrepancies (price, product, etc.)
  • Work with vendor to resolve issues with product supply.
  • Expedite orders to stores and distribution centers.
  • Process Retail Implementation Cards (RIC) from start to finish, including getting product to store and setting up min/max for replenishment.
  • Suggest and implement replenishment adjustments as needed based on sales trends.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Planner Assistant to follow up on back-orders, work on backorder report to ensure timely updating of due dates.
  • Coordinate buys for promotions (featured products, sales flyers, etc.)
  • Distribution Center vs Direct reviews to ensure optimal ordering strategies.
  • Reporting vendor statuses to Senior Inventory Planner and upper management.
  • Physical Inventory Review.
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Purchasing or Senior Inventory Planner.

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous purchasing experience a plus

 Requirements:

 

     Proficiency in and knowledge of:

  • Personal computers, especially Windows, including Word, Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, teamwork skills and organizational skills

Ability to train and support:

  • AS400 computer programs, AWR E3 and PC based programs
  • Handle and coordinate multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work well alone or with others with minimal supervision
